Jon Stewart will host the Oscars

The LA Times now says that ‘Daily Show’ host Jon Stewart will host the 2006 Academy Awards. There is no official confirmation yet, but sources familiar with the process say the deal is done. Stewart was first approached shortly before Christmas, was quickly wrapped up in just a few days, and is said to have included the use of Daily Show writers to help script his material for the Oscars.


Well, whatever. I would have preferred Conan. You know exactly what the show is gonna be with Stewart, and I guess that’s what the hippies wanted. With Conan, it would have been more unpredictable, not to mention funnier. I remember watching the red carpet show one year and Conan was on there and someone asked him where he got his tuxedo and he said Sears. I always thought that was pretty cool, cause Sears does have pretty nice clothes. I get almost all of my Winnie the Pooh and Garfield shirts from there.
