The best movies of last year were…

January 13, 2006 | celebrity | editor | 0 Comments

The George Clooney produced, directed and co-written Good Night, and Good Luck was the best reviewed movie of 2005, according to rottentomatoes.com, who assemble the reviews of every major movie from a huge assortment of media, print and online sites. Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit and March of the Penguins round out the top three.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire came in at number 7, making it the highest ranked event movie of the year. Batman Begins and King Kong came in at 19 and 20, making them the highest ranked action movies and while the 40 Year Old Virgin was the best reviewed comedy, Wedding Crashers somehow came in at 71, proving once and for all that movie critics are bitter joyless dicks. The bottom 5 – the worst reviewed movies of the year – were Son of the Mask, the Perfect Man, White Noise, Elektra and – the official worst movie of the year – was Alone in the Dark, starring Tara Reid.

You can see the complete list here if you want, but I’m gonna stare at Wedding Crasher scene-stealer/Guess model/perfect girl Diora Baird naked for a while, in a noble attempt to cheer the movie up.
