Pete Doherty is above the law

May 2, 2006 | celebrity | editor | 0 Comments

Pete Doherty was arrested over the weekend after the Star UK published pictures they claimed showed him injecting heroin into the arm of a girl as she lay unconscious on his kitchen floor. Doherty was later released after claiming that the syringe in the picture was empty and he was only taking her blood, a claim backed by the girl. The Daily Record says:

Laura McEvoy, 21, backed claims by the Babyshambles frontman that they were simply “messing about” at his flat. Doherty, 27, was arrested at the weekend after pictures were published of him holding a syringe as Laura lay on his kitchen floor in London. He told detectives he was only taking blood from the former convent schoolgirl, which he intended to use to paint pictures.

Things are bad when your defense to the cops is, “I was taking the unconscious girls blood to paint with” because I have to believe that’s illegal too. In fact, it might be much much worse.
