Michael Richards, who played Kramer on "Seinfeld", was performing Friday night at the Laugh Factory in West Hollywood, when he suddenly lost it on two hecklers, both of whom were black. TMZ says:
The camera started rolling just as Richards began his attack, screaming at one of the men, "Fifty years ago we'd have you upside down with a fucking fork up your ass … You can talk, you can talk, you're brave now motherfucker. Throw his ass out. He's a nigger! He's a nigger! He's a nigger! A nigger, look, there's a nigger!"
And then you can actually hear people gasping in disbelief. And I did the same when I heard this because I love all races, they're all my children, as you can tell by my poster of black hands holding a dove under a rainbow.
Wow. That’s one of the most interesting meltdowns I’ve ever seen. His voice almost sounded like my Uncle Lloyd’s for a minute there (since the man’s been dead for like 5 years now, that’s really scary).
Wow (I’m truly at a loss for words on this one). Wonder how long it’s gonna take for him to make a statement apologizing for his outburst?

It is amusing that the story can be about use of “(N)igger” but the comments need to beat the system. I know black people use it in the derogatory to mean ‘ignorant, asshole black person’ but also to mean ‘buddy’. Maybe he got mixed up…?
I totally agree with Monica - “meltdown” is the perfect word. Jeez, this was China Syndrome meltdown. Well his career is now dead and buried (or at least what was left of it). I’m actually out of words after that.
It’s funny that, when faced with a racial epithet (which they obviously found offensive) the black guys respond quickly with one of their own (cracker).

I hope he never apologizes for this. I’m not a racist; my disdain for anyone is on a individual basis, hating a whole group is just lazy. But everyone’s so afraid of their own damn shadow that they’re afraid to speak their tiny minds because it may offend someone. Some people are inappropriately racist. And not funny. And have ridiculous hair. Deal with it.
The only way to sign off his act would be to scream, “You people! You are what’s wrong with this country!” Then start goose-stepping up and down the stage giving Nazi salutes.
Well the person who was insulted handled it like a 5yr old. Swearing and using the word cracker is not going to defuse the situation. While I do not condone his actions I do not condone the actions of the person screaming back at him either.
Between this and that black guy on C-Span saying that the white race must be exterminated, the seeds for the long in development Race War have now come to fruition.
I suppose Kramer and Mel Gibson will lead the Whites into battle.

I just follow the Family Guy example. I try to offend everybody equally. If everyone did it and just laughed at themselves then people wouldn’t care so much. I know it’s never gonna happen, though.

bryce— Nigg+er has ALWAYS MEANT a derogatory racial slur against black people. Nigg+a means dude, guy, homeboy, whatever. Thus you don’t hear the word pronounced with an “ER” unless the intention is to insult. When have you ever heard a white person who was angry or bigoted refer to a black person as “nigg+a”? Never, because the sting comes from the “ER”.
I don’t think he should apologize either. For once in his life he was being himself, a bigot…..That’s the problem with society. We PRETEND racism doesn’t exist because it’s not in the open.
