LINDSAY COULD GET SIX YEARS

July 25, 2007 | celebrity | editor | 0 Comments

Lindsay Lohan is facing 6 years in jail if she is found guilty of all the current charges against her, including 2 DUIs, 2 counts of possession of cocaine, transporting a narcotic into a custodial facility, driving on a suspended license, drinking underage and fleeing the scene of an accident.  TMZ says:

The maximum sentence she faced for the original DUI and hit and run charges was 6 months for each. Last night, Lindsay was charged with another DUI — if convicted of both DUIs, she could face up to one year in jail. She was also charged with possession of cocaine, which is a felony and carries a maximum of three years in jail.Lohan is accused of driving on a suspended license as well, which carries a maximum of one year in jail.

Making matters worse is that both DUIs come so close together, only interrupted by a stint in rehab that she clearly wasn’t taking seriously.  And yet her attorney said today:

"Addiction is a terrible and vicious disease. Since Lindsay transitioned to outpatient care, she has been monitored on a SCRAM bracelet and tested daily in order to support her sobriety. Throughout this period, I have received timely and accurate reports from the testing companies. Unfortunately, late yesterday I was informed that Lindsay had relapsed. The bracelet has now been removed. She is safe, out of custody and presently receiving medical care."

Yeah, addiction is terrible.  So is getting run over by some daffy bitch in an SUV who was racing her car around drunk.  When asked for a comment, someone hit by a drunk driver rattled some chains and said, "boo."
