KIEFER IS FREE

January 21, 2008 | celebrity | editor | 0 Comments

Kiefer Sutherland was released from California's Glendale City Jail very early this morning, after serving 48 days for driving under the influence.  He was arrested on September 24th after being pulled over for an illegal U turn.  When tested, his blood alcohol level was found to be almost twice the legal limit.  He was already on probation for a 2004 DUI, when his BAL was a staggering .24, three times the limit.  Page Six says:

Kiefer was driven away by his publicist under a police escort out the back of the Glendale City Jail an insider exclusively told PageSix.com. Our law enforcement sources also tells us that, "Kiefer is very excited to leave the jail and return to the safe and warm confines of his home. Kiefer was the model inmate while he served his time, and jokingly told jail staff that he won't be doing any laundry anytime soon as he was relegated to endless hours of fluff and fold."We are also told by our insider that Kiefer is looking forward "to some real food, and he never wants to see another bologna sandwich ever again."

He probably should have said less about undelicious sandwiches and more about not driving drunk again, but whatever, I'm just amazed that a Hollywood big shot was sentenced to 48 days and then actually served 48 days.  If you don't remember – and really why would you – Kiefer ended up with the same judge who threw Paris in jail for 45 days.  That dude is cool.  Instead of a robe he should wear a tiger claw necklace and shark tooth hat band and ivory handled hunting knife.  Just feels more honest.
