The Chief Medical Examiner for the City of New York has concluded his report on the death of Heath Ledger, and has determined the actor died after overdosing on prescription drugs.  People magazine says:

"Mr. Heath Ledger died as the result of acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam, and doxylamine," said an announcement released Wednesday morning by office spokesperson Ellen Borakove. "We have concluded that the manner of death is accident, resulting from the abuse of prescription medications," the two-paragraph statement said in its entirety.

Holy crap!  I know those names by themselves don't mean much, except maybe oxycodone, but hydrocodone is better known as vicodin, diazepam is valium, temazepam is a hypnoytic sedative, alprazolam is xanax, and doxylamine is another sedative.  It's hard to call that an accidental overdose.  It's more like he was daring his heart to stop.  If taking drugs was an Olympic event, Heath would have set the world record.
