if you hadn’t heard by now, Vanilla Ice was arrested last night (handsome mugshot here) on charges of domestic battery in Palm Beach County, Fla. The Palm Beach Post says…
Robert Van Winkle, whose singing name was Vanilla Ice, spent the night in jail following an arrest Thursday on a charge of simple domestic battery after his wife called deputies to say her husband was hitting and kicking her.
The judge gave Van Winkle a choice of $1,500 bond or supervised own recognizance. She also ordered the singer not to return home and to have no contact with his wife except by telephone.
And of course this was reported everywhere, including the KTLA morning show in Los Angeles. The reporter (Jessica Holmes, I think) gave the domestic violence story the seriousness and gravity local news is famous for. After this they played the cheerleader beating video with the Benny Hill music layed on top of it, and intercut it with images of a Mexican guy in a bee outfit saying “No es bueno!!!” And they zoomed the camera in and out while he made funny faces.

That is beyond inappropriate. That is fucking unbelievable. That is just wrong. The only way it could have got more wrong is if she made up her own rhyme about putting an ice pack on his wife's contusions. Wrong…SO WRONG!!! Give that woman a promotion.
BTW, his mug shot isn't that bad. I've seen lots worse. Still has that loser goatee, however. A beard without a moustache is silly looking.
