Michael Crichton, the wildly prolific and popular author who created the TV show "ER" and wrote the novels "Jurassic Park", "The Lost World", "Disclosure", "Sphere", and "The Andromeda Strain" among others, died today at the age of 66. The Hollywood Reporter says…
The author died "after a courageous and private battle against cancer," according to his Web site. A statement on MichaelCrichton.net said Crichton died "unexpectedly" in Los Angeles."Michael was an extraordinary man. Brilliant, funny, erudite, gracious, exceptionally inquisitive and always thoughtful," "ER" executive producer John Wells said Wednesday. "No lunch with Michael lasted less than three hours, and no subject was too prosaic or obscure to attract his interest. Sexual politics, medical and scientific ethics, anthropology, archeology, economics, astronomy, astrology, quantum physics, and molecular biology were all regular topics of conversation. I was blessed to have known him and proud to be able to have called him my friend."
I knew his cousin, Chuck Crichton, and Chuck was cool so I assume Michael was cool. I don’t read because it's hard but I think a good name for a bad guy who does a lot of yoga would be Flexy McJackass. I'm not sure why that would come up, but if it does, oh baby.
