jenny mccarthy is an idiot, part 3

March 15, 2010 | celebrity | editor | 0 Comments

People like Jenny MacCarthy blame vaccines for giving their kids autism, specifically vaccines containing a mercury based additive called thimerosal. Thimerosal was removed from these vaccines in 2002 and the rate of autism has not decreased, but McCarthy blames it anyway, even though her kid never got a vaccine containing thimerosal and probably never had autism in the first place.

Nonetheless, Dr. Jenny wants to stop this drug that her kid never got and doesn’t cause autism because it also did not cause autism in her kid. Her science is indisputable! Except for the new court ruling this weekend saying there’s no connection between thimerosal and autism.

Vaccines that contain a mercury-based preservative called thimerosal cannot cause autism on their own, a special U.S. court ruled on Friday, dealing one more blow to parents seeking to blame vaccines for their children’s illness.
More than 5,300 cases were filed by parents who believed vaccines may have caused autism in their children.
The U.S. Institute of Medicine has reported several times that no link can be found between vaccines and autism.
Supporters of the scientific community welcomed the ruling.
“It’s time to move forward and look for the real causes of autism,” said Alison Singer, president of the Autism Science Foundation. “There is not a bottomless pit of money with which to fund autism science. We have to use our scarce resources wisely.”

So Jenny has preyed upon the hopes of at least 5300 parents that their child was given this disease by some evil drug and if they buy her book and do what she did, their child will be cured. Fantastic. Maybe when she’s done here she can go to Africa and just dump a bunch of fresh drinking water into the sand, or send a bunch of running shoes to little kids who stepped on landmines.
