Ladies, Do You Want To Be Objectified Or Not?

April 19, 2013 | celebrity | editor | 0 Comments

There is a Dove commercial that’s gone viral in which “normal” looking women talk about how looks don’t really matter…except that looks are everything. The ad states that pretty much the most important factor in how a woman is perceived is her appearance but that she shouldn’t be judged by her beauty…except that she needs to look hot to be taken seriously. This speaks to something fucking obnoxious and contradictory in modern feminism. We’re a site that likes to show off the ladies and their hotness. You could accuse us of being sexist, (though we love the ladies more than any feminist). It’s hypocrisy at its worst. Take modern feminist icon Lena Dunham. Ladies have lauded her for showing her dumpy sausage-like body and horrifically unattractive tits in every episode for no reason. In interviews she constantly says that people should stop talking about how she’s naked all the time and then proceeds to talk about how she’s naked all the time. So, can we talk about your looks or not? That’s a rhetorical question, because, trust me, we already are behind your back.
