Famed American Idol finalist Justin Guarini doesn’t understand how everybody took his quote on Wednesday to mean that he’s struggling financially.
“I have spent days skipping meals in order to make sure I have enough. To make sure my children, and my wife have enough.” — Justin Guarini, on his personal blog
Seems pretty standard to me. In many parts of the third world, skipping a couple or three meals to so your family can have food is perfectly upper-middle class behavior. Naturally Justin was pissed when outlets like People magazine wrote about how this former American Idol star had fallen on hard times. Like every other pissed person these days, he Tweeted:
“Obviously you completely missed the point of my letter @peoplemag. News isn’t news anymore, and I’m nowhere near poverty. #twistedmytruth.”
To prove how not poor he is, Justin and his wife just had another baby in February. Would broke-ass people make lots of babies? Case closed. Justin wins. Now go get some boxes from behind the Safeway to make the cardboard soup.
