If you ever find something has no commercial value or ability to generate interest just slap some pretentious language under it and call it art. Nobody looks at that shit anyway. Kelli Jean Drinkwater is an artist who wanted to take pictures of herself and some other fat people because apparently there’s a market for that in government funded museums. Drinkwater described her work with the usual obfuscating language about Occupying Space and Changing Form and all the other bullshit they teach you in that one class at Otis you all seem to have paid attention in:
“As a creative team we have approached this subject with authenticity to guide the material in ‘Nothing to Lose’ to go beyond the usual dialogue and approach when talking about fat. This approach is grounded in the lived experience of the cast and one that has a definite focus on movement vocabulary.”
Whatever. If this is how you want to spend your time I certainly wouldn’t try to stop you. You can eat the limbs off of Guatemalan kids in ICE detention and call it transformative. It really would be. The kids would let you because then they’d get to stay. Drinkwater up.
