November 25th was International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. It didn’t take. To honor the sentiment, artist slash activist Alexsandro Palombo cloned up some photos of Kim Kardashian, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kristen Stewart and other despised chicks that fuel men’s rage as they beat their wives. When the Kardashians saw their photos being used in this campaign, they immediately announced their total support for the cause. Then they fired off a legal letter demanding Palombo stop using their images without appropriate licensing. It’s a practical feminism. Palombo has previously used doctored stills of beaten Disney Princesses to get across his point that any woman or female cartoon character can be the victim of abuse. There’s no way to calculate the positive impact of Palombo’s campaign outside of his getting super laid for his Photoshop skills.
