Robin Wright Victimized By Gender Pay Gap for Up To Eleven Seconds

May 18, 2016 | celebrity | Lex Jurgen | 0 Comments

Robin Wright spoke to a Gender Pay Inequality crowd at the Rockefeller Foundation, sharing her harrowing experience of victimization and oppression in compensation for her work on House of Cards. Wright discovered that she was only earning $420,000 per episode compared to Kevin Spacey’s $500,000 despite the fact their characters clearly co-equally headline the show in screen time and importance.

“I was looking at the statistics and Claire Underwood’s character was more popular than [Frank’s] for a period of time. So I capitalized on it. I was like, ‘You better pay me or I’m going to go public. And they did”

You thought you were worth more, you explained why you were worth more, and they paid your more? This is unconventional madness. First, that somebody thought you could live off $420,000 a week. But second your steadiness in the face of male privilege. Demanding a raise. That wasn’t supposed to work. Can Hillary go home now?
