Rose McGowan Calls Out Apocalypse

A few years ago Rose McGowan made the switch from tight tank topped femme fatale who sleeps with her directors to muckraker railing against Hollywood for being sexist. It’s like graduating into the Sr. PGA Tour. After having bad plastic surgery and shaving your head.

McGowan’s latest grind is against Fox for their one-sheet promos for X-Men Apocalypse which features the “some know me as Ra” big blue grey villain choking out Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique. The movie is pretty shitty. This scene his is one of the more compelling moments of the film. Especially if you’ve ever imagined choking out Jennifer Lawrence for complaining about only making $80 million last year. McGowan says promotes violence against women. She wrote a long piece about portrayals of violence against women on Facebook buttoned up in a completely false sounding plea from a child:

I’ll close with a text my friend sent, a conversation with his daughter. It follows: ‘My daughter and I were just having a deep discussion on the brutality of that hideous X-Men poster yesterday. Her words: ‘Dad, why is that monster man committing violence against a woman?’ This from a 9-year-old. If she can see it, why can’t Fox?”

Well if she’s nine and she’s casually integrating phrases such as committing violence against a woman into her cute as a button lexicon, she’s probably well past most Fox executives on the feminist intelligence quotient. Without spoiling shit, the movie is all about chick mutants and how they ultimately kind of save the day. It’s a comic book movie and not nearly as graphic as a ton of women getting blasted shit McGowan’s been involved with in the past. Jennifer Lawrence got paid. Shut the fuck up or giant gray Rudy Giuliani will make you.
