Adam LaRoche Joyriding Sex Trafficking Stings

When last we checked with huntsman and prematurely retired Chicago White Sox slugger Adam LaRoche, he was busting child sex rings in Vietnam for his adventure vacation. LaRoche joined up with a group of ex-military and yahoos who independently run undercover operations in Southeast Asia primarily because God kind of asked them to. That in sharp contrast to local and international law enforcement authorities who are kind of pissed the Child Sex Expendables are air dropping into the middle of their long term operations, creating high profile but ineffective pimp busts, and taking off with high fives and sixers of Busch while “freed” sex slave children are quickly gobbled up by the next pimp over.

LaRoche’s group and others makes lots of documentaries and videos about their busts, interviews in dark shadowy rooms, hidden cams waiting in brothels for their underaged prize, throwing pimps to the ground. 

The trouble is it’s really risky to the victims,” said Anne Gallagher, founding chair of the U.N. Inter-Agency Group on Human Trafficking and Migrant Smuggling, and cited by the State Department as “the leading global expert on the international law on human trafficking.” She said that the civilian groups can cause problems for prosecutions, and that they often are unprepared to help victims.

In short, sorry the White Sox wouldn’t let your kid live in the clubhouse, but wouldn’t marlin fishing be more fun? If gung-ho civilians started busting up rioters in Charlotte there’d probably be outrage domestically. The Minutemen started making citizens arrest at the border for a short lived period of time for guys on three-wheelers with free weekends to become self-deputized border patrol. It all seems like a good idea. Though never as a good an idea as having trained professionals doing their job. 

Sex trafficking is one of those dark nodes of human nature that will never go away. LaRoche could probably adopt one of those orphaned kids and give them a decent roof and three square meals and an education and do more good than kicking down slum doors in Saigon and being forced to defend his shitty OPS considering the size of his contract. Though that would make for a shitty sizzle reel.
