Kaepernick’s Fro Grows Stronger

September 2, 2016 | celebrity | Lex Jurgen | 0 Comments

Among the other unintended consequences of the Kaepernick sit-in for Black Lives Matter is the incredible rate at which his afro is growing. It’s one thing to disoblige the by the numbers patriotism of the sport that pays you eight figures to play along, it’s another to grow a Foxy Brown in the course of one preseason. Save the dark sunglasses and black leather overcoat for the Monday Night opener.

Kaepernick entered Chargers Stadium for the final preseason game to a chorus of boos from San Diego fans. San Diego being a notable Navy town, and having invited every single service member and veteran within fifty miles to come watch the game in the otherwise empty seats. You can pretend it was a show of patriotic strength, or sheepishly admit it’s precisely what Kaepernick wanted to bring attention to his third string protest. In true Kaepernick fashion, the QB ignored the public slings and arrows and led his team to six first half points against the Chargers non-starters defense.

Kaepernick defenders are pointing out that his BLM support isn’t new and can be traced back to Twitter posts as way back as almost ten months ago. They’re less inclined to target the origin to about the very same week Kaepernick had lost his starting job, likely for good. Demotion gets a man to thinking. Or a Millennial man to re-Tweeting.

The continuing Kaepernick saga is now squarely on the shoulders of the media that won’t let it die quietly because it makes for good copy. Much of it will subside naturally when the real season begins and everybody remembers they can’t name the backup QBs on most teams. Even the perennial loser in your fantasy league wouldn’t draft Kaepernick. If only enormous afros fixed your timing on passing routes.
