Damian Lillard Doesn’t Understand Progressive White Rage

Portland Trailblazers star guard rather politely told all the anti-Trump protesting baristas in the streets of Portland to maybe take it down a few notches. If Lillard only knew how every nose ring out there kicking fenders and throwing Fuji water bottles at storefronts represented a sacred wish for a better life for a minority child, maybe he would’ve backed the coastal state Presidential election results rage with more enthusiasm:

“I think it’s very unfortunate that people have done some of the things they have done during the protest. A lot of harm and damage has been done. I do understand their frustration, and I commend people wanting to come together for some kind of change. Tearing apart your own city just isn’t the place to begin, and also making your own city less of a safe place isn’t the answer.”

White people protesting other white people hasn’t really accomplished much, at least since the Civil War when they did their protesting with muskets and cannons and killed several hundred thousand of each other. Watching hippies bust up head shops and turn over fair trade jade jewelry carts reeks of impotence.

Many are blaming the electoral college for their frustration. Votes in California, Oregon, New York, Maryland and other non-swing Blue States drove up tremendous popular Clinton votes while proving to be meaningless in the election results. That and whatever you spent on that commemorative Hillary plate or autographed photo over the past eighteen months has to sting. Enough to get you out of your vegan gastropubs and into the streets for a fleece-lined bit of civil unrest.

Let your outrage be heard. After eighteen months your husband is done with obligatory nodding. Write about the coming holocaust on Facebook. There’s still perfunctory likes to be had. Indians fans are close to getting that World Series decision reversed.
