Bella Thorne Wanted to Kill Herself, Like Most Kids

There are two kinds of crazy. People born fucked in the head whose behavior and wild hair falls blatantly outside the spectrum of normalcy, and people touched by circumstance who often you have to listen to carefully to discern their instability. The latter describes that girlfriend who tore up your clothes with a hunting knife because she thought you got a text from an old girlfriend. She seemed so stable that night you met her at the bowling alley and she fucked you in the bathroom.

HarpersBazaar.com interviewed Bella Thorne about being pretend bisexual and having her septum pierced and other things girls can do to show their independence not including actual self-reliance or accomplishment. Thorne tossed out wanting to date Kristen Stewart because that seemed topical. Also how she felt so constricted working for Disney through her teen years where she was made to be a “puppet”. Thorne mentioned how her goal in life is to quit it with the dishonest public relations bullshit and let everybody know she’s got problems the same as everybody else:

“People go through some fucked up shit. But it doesn’t mean that you have to turn completely to the dark side and be unhappy and depressed. I have had really dark thoughts. When I was younger I thought about killing myself; it’s very normal in a way that, if you’re upset with who you are and how your life is going, you could think these things.”

It’s not that very normal. Though among young girls asked by their parents to do whatever it takes to land a TV gig because her two older sisters flopped and she’s the last hope for the family to eat, it’s extremely high. If kid actors had access to guns, they’d all be dead. As would half the casting agents in town. Which means having to guess at their child porn passwords when discerning motive for all the homicides. 

Hearing your kid wanted to kill herself is where many parent step in with grave concern and intervention. Bella Thorne’s parents kick around an idea for a Lifetime docu-drama and double down on her life insurance payout. This kind of makes you miss the dishonest public relations bullshit. Which MTV star is she dating again? I need to feel less sad.
