Wonder Woman Just For Women

May 26, 2017 | WTF | Lex Jurgen | 0 Comments

The Alamo Drafthouse announced plans to run a couple Wonder Women movie showings for women only. The Drafthouse is Austin’s most storied movie theater, having introduced the novelty of selling beer and burgers to movie patrons with roaming waiters during the films. They’ve since franchised out to multiple locations throughout the Southwest.

“Apologies, gentlemen, but we’re embracing our girl power and saying ‘No Guys Allowed’ for one special night at the Alamo Ritz. And when we say ‘Women (and People Who Identify As Women) Only,’ we mean it. Everyone working at this screening — venue staff, projectionist, and culinary team — will be female.”

No apologies necessary. Outside of raping the Constitution and openly boasting about discrimination, this seems solid. Your employees being denied work that evening solely on the basis of their gender aren’t a protected class. Unlike men in dresses, which is why you had to explicitly add that part about gender identification.

Numerous people expressed outrage on social media. Fairly clearly, a “No Women Allowed” policy would’ve brought in Federal diversity choppers to fire Hellcats into the theater. Men simply can’t fathom the need for women and women alone to watch a female director and female starring Marvel movie laden with CGI set pieces. It’s like the Women’s March on Washington. Men allowed, but only with hardcore versatile slave sub credentials. Even then, they had to dress as aborted fetus babies.

In the grand scheme of things, nobody gives a shit about Austin hipsters getting their virtue signaling on. It’s the double standards that will kill you. All the good Amazons are dead.
