Commodore 64 Coming Back

October 3, 2017 | crap around the web | Elliot Wolf | 0 Comments

There are undoubtedly a plethora of past gems when it comes to entertainment from every generation. And in order for them to have really shined during their time they had to utilize the best technology available. So low pixel count when playing video games wasn’t a problem because it was the best developers could offer. Now thanks to games like Minecraft a younger audience is interested in the sub-par graphic games of old. Never mind that Minecraft attracts more pedophiles than an AOL chat room did in its hay day, give the kids what they want.

Another retro console will soon be getting the plug-and-play treatment. Retro Games Limited has announced it is releasing a miniature version of the Commodore 64 next year. Like other plug-and-play systems, the C64 Mini is a small replica of the 1982 console. It features HDMI output, two USB ports, supports save states, and comes pre-loaded with a selection of games, such as Impossible Mission, Armalyte, and California Games. You can find the full list of titles on the product’s website.

The return of the Commodore 64 is obviously what everyone wanted. Why stop at just remaking movies and consoles from the past. Can we bring back dial-up internet too? Nothing brings back memories like watching 240p resolution porn with ridiculous amounts of buffering only to have your connection crash because of an unexpected phone call. Vintage video gaming has decided to overstay its welcome with the revival of the Commodore 64. Limited game choice coupled with high definition 8-Bit graphics aren’t appealing to the average consumer. Anyone interested in playing those types of games are running emulators and are PC people. Why would anyone in 2017 who could stream porn, watch YouTube, and virtually murder their friends online in glorious 4K graphics all on the same Xbox choose a Commodore 64 instead?
