Danny Glover Doesn’t Care About Hotel Employees

I believe Danny Glover is not human at all, but the creation of Anthony Hopkins. Glover was engineered in an undisclosed lab somewhere just like in Westworld. “I’m too old for this shit” is one of his most iconic lines because he’s always been too old. He looks six years away from turning 60 in every movie. I wonder how long before Hopkins officially retires his model because he’s starting to malfunction. Glover openly supported the use of Airbnb over hotels and was heckled into oblivion by a few protesters with opposing opinions.

An unidentified man began screaming at Glover when he approached a stand of microphones at the foot of the “Million Dollar Staircase.” The heckler accused the “Lethal Weapon” star of selling out the labor unions he’s supported in the past by becoming a paid consultant to Airbnb. Another man and a woman standing on either side of the staircase joined in the sneak attack, sparking several minutes of chaotic shouting and finger-pointing between the hotel workers and dozens of Airbnb supporters. Glover eventually stormed off down one of the Capitol’s labyrinthine hallways.

Airbnb deserves all the hate it gets. The company constantly dodges accountability, all of the customer service rep careers are outsourced to inner city individuals with attitude, and the ability for a host to cancel a confirmed reservation two days before you arrive is ludicrous. But I’d bet my bottom dollar you couldn’t find a more affordable place to stay in the best location of a city.

In a statement afterward, an Airbnb spokesman said, “Danny Glover has been a champion for civil rights and progressive values for decades. Today, he and hundreds of Airbnb hosts were harassed by individuals working for the hotel lobby while standing up for thousands of hardworking families across New York who depend on home sharing to make ends meet.”

Airbnb is like the fat chick at the bar, not your first choice but she needs to exist as an option. It’s almost like a pleasant hotel experience if you know what you’re doing. Like always pay for the entire place and never book a shared room. Because who wants to be awoken in the middle of the night by the sound of a complete stranger rubbing one out five feet away. That’s what prisons are for.
