Taylor Swift Can’t Take A Joke

Taylor Swift refuses to be the butt of any joke and she’ll use all of her available connections to make sure all funny business at her expense is cancelled. Donald Glover just happened to be her latest victim and the results of her wrath ended with a new Deadpool cartoon in the making being canned. Thanks to Taylor’s ridiculous level of sensitivity creativity is being stifled. Glover dedicated an entire episode to making fun of Taylor but that was crossing the line. Marvel is fine with murder and death delivered by a superhero exercising his 2nd amendment right but a few jokes about a pop country singer is going too far? What happened to the first amendment that allows the freedom to poke fun at whoever you want?

Donald and Stephen Glover (brother) were to write the “animated adult action-comedy TV series” in between Atlanta seasons, while Archer animation house Floyd County was to handle the visuals. It’s still possible Marvel TV might shop the series elsewhere with another creator.

Donald Glover’s statement:

There really was a Taylor Swift episode. It was HILARIOUS. And it definitely was the last straw lol. Our show wasn’t too black. It wasn’t really that black at all. But we definitely wanted to give Rick and Morty a run for their money and I think we would have.

Cartoons aimed at adult audiences are pretty awesome but in short supply as of late. Family Guy isn’t funny anymore and Bojack Horseman is basically more background noise than it is entertaining. Deadpool would have been more than welcome but I’m guessing Marvel didn’t want to chance Taylor telling her teenie bopper fanbase to not buy tickets to Wonder Woman 2.
