Halsey’s slamming of the h8ers (in the Instagram post above) is backfiring, as many people online are seeing right through her bullshit. The manish but I guess kind of hot to those who like men singer performed at the Victoria’s Secret Mall Underwear Fashion Show, which was filmed a month ago, but just aired on television this weekend. The filming occurred before the CMO of Vicky S.’s parent company L Brands, Ed Razek, sat down for his viral unwoke af interview with Vogue, in which he stated – among other unwoke af sentiments:

Shouldn’t you have transsexuals in the show? No. No, I don’t think we should. Well, why not? Because the show is a fantasy. It’s a 42-minute entertainment special. That’s what it is.

While the Vogue interview was published on November 8th, Halsey waited nearly a month – until the show’s airing on ABC – to come forward with her thoughts on Razek. This provided maximum eyeballs on her cause, considering a number of people were probably Googling her after her performance because they had no fucking clue what a Halsey is. And I’m still not sure.

But this also feels like an attention grab, and a number of people online are wondering if she would have had a greater impact had she released her thoughts prior to Sunday’s airing. And if she waited so long because of something she signed with Vicky S. And if the check cleared. And what a warrior for progress will do with dirty trans and fatphobic Vicky S. money. I’m still wondering if I’ve ever heard a song by this Halsey man chick. Wait wait wait. Is this Justin Bieber.
