You hear a lot of so-called “facts” in the media about smoking and cancer, or at least you do if you’re not Christina Applegate, who knocked down a few smokes this weekend in Italy. It’s true she had breast cancer last August, but that was a long time ago, and cancer is like chicken pox or lightning attack. It can’t happen twice. She should snap off the filter and enjoy herself. She’s immortal now.

Speaking on ABC News' "Good Morning America" in her first interview since announcing her diagnosis earlier this month, the "Samantha Who?" star said she had a double mastectomy three weeks ago. She'll undergo reconstructive surgery over the next eight months.
"I'm going to have cute boobs 'til I'm 90, so there's that," she joked in the interview, which aired Tuesday. "I'll have the best boobs in the nursing home. I'll be the envy of all the ladies around the bridge table."
The 36-year-old actress elected to remove both breasts even though the disease was contained in one breast. She said she is now cancer-free.
Applegate called the operation a logical decision. Her mother battled breast cancer, and she tested positive for the BRCA1 gene mutation linked to breast and ovarian cancer.
"I just wanted to kind of be rid of it," she said. "So this was the choice I made and it was a tough one."
Wow, good for her. She did the right thing. Implants look fantastic these days, and while natural breasts are even more awesome, they don’t do me much good if the girl is dead. Just digging her up would have taken all night, and I'm pretty busy.
Barely two weeks ago it was revealed that Christina Applegate had been diagnosed with breast cancer, yet today she tells Good Morning America that she is cancer free. Well that was easy. The New York Daily News says…
"I'm clear," Applegate tells ABC News' "Good Morning America" in an interview airing Tuesday. "Absolutely 100 percent clear and clean. It did not spread. They got everything out, so I'm definitely not going to die from breast cancer."
"I was so mad," she says in the "GMA" interview when she first heard the news. "I was just shaking and - and then also immediately, I had to go into … 'take-care-of-business-mode,' which was … I asked them, 'What do I do now? What - what is it that I do? I get a doctor, I get a surgeon, I get an oncologist? What do I do?"'
Applegate, 36, says she "immediately made those appointments and immediately called around for … someone to start teaching me how to live macrobiotically." She was referring to following a healthy diet of fish, grains, beans and vegetables, and avoiding processed foods.
I’m not a doctor, in fact I’m poorly educated and to be honest I can barely read, but is that really how cancer works? One week you have it the next you don’t? I don’t think she had cancer. I think the doctor just wanted to fondle her breasts for a few weeks. If your doctor tells you have breast cancer, and he knocks you out, and later you wake up and he’s crying with the bible open and saying "I'm so weak…", that’s how you can tell. I would get a second opinion.
Popular actress Christina Applegate has been diagnosed with breast cancer, a rep for the actress announced late Saturday. She is 36-years-old. According to People.com:
In full, the spokesperson's statement said: "Christina Applegate was diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer. Benefiting from early detection through a doctor ordered MRI, the cancer is not life threatening. Christina is following the recommended treatment of her doctors and will have a full recovery. No further statement will be issued at this time."
I think a funny joke would be, if I was at the breast cancer place, and Christina Applegate came in and said, "I would like to get rid of my breast cancer please", I would say, "breast cancer? Why don’t you go back to your home on Whore Island!" You know, like in that movie. Then I’d go make a sandwich or something, I don’t know. I don’t even really work here.
The National Enquirer broke the story last night that Lee Grivas, the 26-year-old boyfriend of Christina Applegate, was found dead in his home yesterday after an apparent heroin overdose. So it turns out heroin might be bad for you. Oh I know, I was surprised too. They should put something on the label. Grivas — a fisherman, skateboarder and aspiring photographer — died July 1.
An official cause of death has not been issued, pending toxicology tests. The death was reported as a possible accident or suicide.
The former Married.. With Children star met Grivas in 2006 while she was performing in the Broadway musical Sweet Charity.
The two began dating as her marriage to actor Johnathon Schaech unraveled, but she ended the relationship because she reportedly felt Grivas was too much of a free spirit.
A source close to Grivas told The National Enquirer: "Lee also had a long history of drug problems, dating back to his teen years. Christina broke up with him a number of times because of his struggles with getting clean. She loved him, but couldn't stand by and watch him ruin his life."
The good news is, I'm still okay. So that was a relief. That’s him in the pictures by the way, on a trip to Maui with Applegate in April of last year. I don’t have any more current pictures of him, but just take one of these pictures and lay it on its side. That should be pretty close.
People Magazines 100 Most Beautiful People for 2008 was released today, and the fact that Christina Applegate and Rumor Willis are among those named is exactly why people should ignore idiot nonsense like People Magazines 100 Most Beautiful People. The mutt in the picture above wouldn’t make my list of 100 Most Beautiful Christina Applegate’s. The People website has a picture of her and she looks great, but of course they have a GD picture where she looks great. It’s Hollywood. They pound her with makeup and extensions and perfect lighting and professionals and take a hundred thousand pictures and then use one. You could make my nuts look like Abraham Lincoln if you did that all that. So see, Christina Applegate and my nuts have more in common than you may have thought.
