Just a few reactions so far from Hollywood on the passing of Heath Ledger. John Travolta, ironically in Australia right now for the "Walk on the Wildside: Benefit Dinner for Wildlife Warriors and Australia Plays Broadway", told Extra:
“He is one of my favorite actors. His abilities are rare…it’s a tremendous loss. It’s hard to be here celebrating Australia under these circumstances.”
Ledgers next big role of course was his turn as the Joker in the Batman sequel, "The Dark Knight", due this summer. Batmans studio Warner Bothers has issued this statement:
"The studio is stunned and devastated by this tragic news. The entertainment community has lost an enormous talent. Heath was a brilliant actor and an exceptional person. Our hearts go out to his family and friends."
This guy really was a good actor. He seemed to think of acting as an art and not just a way to get laid. But he's not the only artist. For example, I can draw a turtle.
Heath Ledger was found dead at his Manhattan apartment today. He was 28. People says:
Ledger was found in the bedroom of his Soho apartment around 3:30 p.m. by his housekeeper and a masseuse
Ledger, who was in bed, did not respond when they shook him, and the housekeeper called 911. He was pronounced dead at 3:45 p.m.
Authorities said they did not suspect foul play but that pills were found near the body.
"There were some drugs found around the body – prescription type drugs," a police spokesman tells PEOPLE. It's still unclear whether the death was accidental.
Hopefully this is like the time he died in The Patriot. Because later I saw him in a different movie. So hopefully he's fine.
Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams have split after three years together. They met while filming "Brokeback Mountain" in 2004. They have one child, a daughter named Matilda, who was born in October 2005. People magazine says:
"It was rocky for awhile," says a source close to the couple. "They did what they could to make it work."
Heath must be crazy. The pictures are Michelle yesterday in new York. That bitch is hot. The hair, the body, the sexy outfit - it just all works for me. I know there are some countries that let you put a wig on a duck and marry it. She should go there. She'd be like their Angelina Jolie.
AICN is running what they claim to be the first picture of Heath Ledger as the Joker in next summers "the Dark Knight", the sequel to "Batman Begins". The image is taken from a makeup test done internally for Warner Bothers. It may or may not be real, because it doesn't even really look like Ledger. It might be his stand-in. Who for some reason has 9 fingers on his right hand. Either way, he just looks kinda dorky. Not scary. But I guess if you like goth poser homos in eyeliner, Heath Ledger as the Joker is like a magical bundle of wishes and you two perverts should run away together.
