NBC has sent out a press release saying Jerry Sandusky admitted to showering and “horsing around” with young boys but denied that he is a pedophile in an interview that will air on ‘Rock Center’ tonight at 10 pm/9 CT.
“I say that I am innocent of those charges,” said Sandusky in a phone interview with Bob Costas.
When asked by Costas, “Are you a pedophile,” Sandusky responded “No.”
“I could say that I have done some of those things. I have horsed around with kids I have showered after workouts. I have hugged them and I have touched their legs without intent of sexual contact,” said Sandusky.
When pressed by Costas about what Sandusky was willing to concede that he’d done was wrong, Sandusky said, “I shouldn’t have showered with those kids.”
That “I have horsed around with kids I have showered after workouts” might be one of those times when some missing punctuation really sends things in a whole new direction.
(SECOND SELF SERVING UPDATE – TMZ took their original story down, and now admit it wasn’t him. here’s a cap of what they had before)
TMZ has a picture that they say shows Jerry Sandusky at LaGuardia airport in New York this morning, and even though the guy doesn’t look anything like Jerry Sandusky, it might be him because it’s not like he’s stuck at home. He also reportedly went shopping at Dicks Sporting Goods last week (“in full PSU attire“), and as deadspin reported…
Despite all the horseplay in the showers between their defensive coordinator and young boys, and despite that same coach now being investigated for maybe “pimping out young boys to rich donors”, and also in San Antonio for raping a boy while in town for a bowl game, and even though the fans rioted and flipped over a TV truck after the people who shielded the guy raping kids was fired, and even though Nebraska fans are being advised to not wear red when they play Penn State this weekend so they won’t be attacked bloods and crips style, and despite the threats that will keep the Penn State coach who witnessed a child being raped from coaching this weekend, Drake still held his concert on campus last night, and he thinks things are fine. So he ended his concert by saying this…
“I just wanna, I wanna truly thank you for being able to come together and have a great evening. Like I said, despite everything that’s going on around you, this is one of the greatest schools in the motherfuckin world.
I’d love to come back some time. Maybe like, maybe like with some of my family, like Nicki Minaj.
So, while I work on makin that happen, you work on being the beautiful people that you are.”
And after that he said, “If the new defensive coordinator kills a kid I might even move here!”
If you were wondering if anyone could look like more of an asshole than Ashton Kutcher on twitter in regards to Joe Paterno, the short answer is yes. The somewhat longer answer is yes and it’s Alec Baldwin, who retweeted something earlier today with a #freepaterno hashtag (though he’s since deleted it) and who wrote this sequence last night:
- Add Paterno’s name to the list of people who exit the stage embroiled in a sex scandal. Sad.
- Oh. We have a lot of “attorneys” out there this evening.
- OK. For all your lawyers out there, molestation scandal.
- There is so little empathy in this world 2day. It’s truly pathetic. I didn’t say Paterno was innocent. I said that his story … ends on a sad note.
Wait does he really consider raping young boys to be the same thing as “sex”? Because it seems like a distinction had to be dragged out of him. He could really be in a tight hole now, which is ironic since that was Jerry Sanduskys problem too.
In his defense, Ashton Kutcher seemed to have no idea why Joe Paterno was fired, and when things were explained, he quickly took this down and apologized repeatedly. And it seemed sincere. It’s hard to believe that he didn’t know, especially since Iowa and Penn State are in the same conference, but consider this; Ashton Kutcher is an idiot. And who knows, maybe he has a new girlfriend. Love can make the whole world slip away!
The Penn State board of trustees held an emergency meeting Wednesday night at 10:00pm and unanimously voted to fire football coach Joe Paterno and university president Graham Spanier due to their involvement with the Jerry Sandusky sex scandal. Which is way grosser than that made it sound.
Surprisingly, Mike McQueary, the wide receivers coach who actually witnessed the rape and reported it to Paterno, has not been fired.
Board vice chairman John Surma said…
“Joe Paterno is no longer the football coach, effective immediately. It was necessary for the long-term views of the university which is much larger than athletic programs. … Our job was to make this determination. … I think in the long-term, we’ve done the right thing.”
As a huge college football fan, specifically an LSU fan, I can promise you I’d want my coach fired and arrested if he did what Joe Paterno did. And by that I mean if he were a shitty recruiter and lost to Alabama two years in a row. I seriously hate those people.
