01.22.2009 and the nominees are…

This is bullshit.  Early this morning in Beverly Hills, the Academy Award nominees (see the entire list here) were announced, and as expected "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" leads the pack with 13, including Best Picture, Best Director for David Fincher and Best Actor for Brad Pitt.  Also as expected, Heath Ledger was nominated for his work in "The Dark Knight".  Now this is where everything goes to hell, because "Knight" didn’t get a nod for Best Picture or Best Director and "Gran Torino" was shut out completely.  "Torino" and "Man On Wire" were the best movies of the year, and they're gonna be ignored.   I'm sure "Wire" will lose to some hippie nonsense about war.  "Milk" was like watching a fish tank for two hours it was so damn dull, but of course it got the nod in all the major categories.  I’d rather have watched actual milk for two hours.  Just pour it in a bowl and I'll stare at it until noon.  There's no way that could be any more dull.

    BORING.

Wall-E and The Dark Knight deserved more nominations.

Way to make no one give a shit about the Oscars yet again, Academy.

Are you kidding? Man on Wire was so boring. It was like watching a doc on the History Channel, but worse.

Is this the same award ‘No Country For Old Men’ won? That movie was the longest, worthless spread of dogshit over a kitchen counter I’ve ever experienced, next to ‘There Will Be Blood’. When will movies like ‘The Fifth Element’ or ‘Homeward Bound’ ever win this shittastic award? Oh, I know why….cause they’re good movies and worth watching.

Man on a Wire was good, but yes totally fucking boring. Grand Torino? Get the fuck over it. Yer old! You just look like the dick in the old house on the block people throw apples at. Dark Night? Ok good, but way overrated. I get it he died. Im sorry he died, but lets not project that this movie was any better than any other action type of the genre. Prob the best in the series. Milk was fantastic. Essential. Insert the gay jokes here from all. Im sorry there were no tits in it. Perhaps better luck next year.

Nowadays you gotta be a floating artistic, pillow biting cock sucker director who draws out a senseless 3 hours of……ya know what, I don’t have the vocabulary or the patience to make a good argument. I’m just gonna sit here with my vulgar swagger and say fuck these awards and the shit dicks who get ‘em.

  10. DB's Treasure 01/22/2009 07:09

Finkle, it may have but they just don’t make movies like that anymore.

Klaus, I imagine you to be that asshole at a party no one invited, and everyone hates talking to cause you crown your opinion above others while you sip your chardonnay and check out the mens’ asses from the corners of the room.

Unless a film has some noble up its own arse quality to it, its not likely to win an academy award. How many Spielberg films have won?
The ideal academy film is about a lesbian, black single mother played by Angelina Jolie who discovers herself on a trip to visit the freedom fighters in Guatemala.

I didn’t see Cloverfield on the list for Best Documentary. That’s weird.
