Ricky Gervais is real popular in Hollywood today

By brendon January 17, 2011 @ 2:41 PM

One reason why Ricky Gervais has made such a name for himself in comedy is because he truly doesn’t care who he offends or annoys or if anyone gets the joke but him. He does what he thinks is funny, always. Which is evident if you watched the Golden Globes last night. For example, when he introduced Robert Downey Jr, he ended it by saying…

“But many of you in this room probably know him best from such facilities as the Betty Ford Clinic and Los Angeles County Jail.”

As you might expect, that didn’t go over so well with some people who are used to having their ass kissed at all times.

Downey Jr later said on stage: “Aside from the fact that it’s been hugely mean-spirited with mildly sinister undertones, I’d say the vibe of the show has been pretty good so far, wouldn’t you?”
Presenters Tom Hanks and his Toy Story 3 costar Tim Allen also criticized Gervais, with Hanks saying: “We recall when Ricky Gervais was a slightly chubby but very kind comedian,” to which Allen added: “Neither of which he is now.”

Others however, weren’t so uptight, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Christian Bale: “Thank God for comedians,” he said, adding that he had no problems with Gervais’ zingers: “I’m hoping he’s going to keep going further.”

Jim Parsons (the Big Bang Theory): “It was great! I thought he was really funny. It’s like he walked up to the edge, and then he jumped right on over and didn’t look back. I was scandalized, I tell you. I think he’s hilarious and funny and whenever you’re funny, you’re gonna push some people’s buttons.’”

Al Pacino: “He’s a comic, so he’s going to go for it. He’s letting it go. The only thing he can really get to is his own wit. He has to censor himself. I’m sure he’s planned some of it – [the jokes] really fly. You don’t know what [he's] going to say!”

Heather Morris (Glee): “I thought he was hysterical. He was so dry. He’s funny as hell.”

Some stars feel like these award shows are a special night for their work to be honored and it’s not a roast and they shouldn’t be made fun of (which is why the Oscars have two actors as hosts this year) but fuck you. Your entire life is your special night. Stop doing such ridiculous shit and you won’t get made fun of. What do you want him to talk about, a fish he caught?

Eva Longoria at the Golden Globes

Eva Longoria

Eva Longoria at least tried to look sexy for last nights Golden Globe awards, but her depressing tits are useless and so it didn’t work.

This is one of the most boring and unsexy periods I can ever think of in Hollywood. No one ever wears anything good, and most of the big stars are either not pretty or not pretty anymore. About the most positive thing I can say is that there’s room for improvement everywhere. You could find hotter girls putting ads on craiglist asking for you to come rape them.

Angelina Jolie at the Golden Globes

It’s a free country, and Angelina Jolie can wear whatever she wants, but we should change that. Because this shit is ridiculous.

Natalie Portman is pretty and a good actress (and last night she won best actress at the Golden Globes for Black Swan), but she still looked ridiculous in the stupid outfit she wore. That dress + sleeves + a ruffled collar + bowling pins = French clown. Oohhh, how sexy.

Emma Stone at the Golden Globes and Critics Choice

Emma Stone was at the Golden Globes last night and the Critics Choice Awards the night before (where her movie Easy A won Best Comedy) but unfortunately she still has her glorious red hair dyed blond while filming the Spider-Man reboot.

I know she’s on here a lot considering she’s really not that famous yet, but to set the record straight, Emma and I are NOT dating. I know there’s a lot of talk about our sexual chemistry or whatever, and obviously I don’t know what the future holds, but for now, we are not an item.

Christina Aguilera at the Golden Globes

No point in denying it. No point in ignoring it. It’s official. Christina Aguilera is ugly now. She used to be a crazy hot little piece of ass, but she put on like 15 pounds and it’s turned her into a monster. Which is unbelievable because that’s not very much weight. But she still tries to be sexy. It’s gross. Who is she blowing kisses too? Is someone dressed as a slice of pizza?
