The Nobel Prize is irrelevant

Bloomberg News is reporting that Finland’s Martti Ahtisaari, Irish rock star Bono, U.S. Senator Richard Lugar and former Senator Sam Nunn are frontrunners to win this year’s Nobel Peace Prize, to be announced by the Nobel Committee on October 7. Bono and fellow musician Bob Geldof were given a 6 to 1 chance of winning in recognition of their efforts to forgive third-world debt at the Group of Eight Summit in July.
