Brad Pitt and George Clooney split

April 5, 2006 | celebrity | editor | 0 Comments

The deal to build a 3 billion dollar Las Vegas casino by a group of investors including Brad Pitt and George Clooney is on the verge of collapse after Pitt allegedly walked out to build his own hotel in Palm Springs. Pitt and Clooney were investors in Las Ramblas, an 11-building complex off the Las Vegas Strip that was meant to capture the feel of Vegas in the 1960’s, and that, according to a source, was one reason for the split:

“Clooney wants to run an old-school, black-tie formal resort in Las Vegas that harkens back to the Sinatra era, but Brad’s more about being hip and more Hollywood-oriented, so that’s the direction he’s going with the plans in Palm Springs. Industry types in Vegas always smirked at Clooney’s plans, but Pitt’s plan to tap into the young market makes more sense to them.”

A source says that once Pitt bailed, the Las Rambles project lost steam and is now on the verge of collapse, but a rep for Clooney denies this, saying that Pitt was never officially committed to Las Ramblas and that the project is moving forward as planned. So thank God. Otherwise George Clooney would have been devastated for the one second he wasn’t remembering that he owns Hollywood and banging either Krista Allen or Lucy Liu or both. I don’t think I’m alone in saying that George Clooney and his fabulous casino can go fuck themselves.
