Star Jones is getting fired

The producers of ‘the View’ will announce this week that they are firing Star Jones and may fill her spot with former talk show host and Oprah Winfrey BFF Gayle King. Although always despised by ‘View’ matriarch Barbara Walters, Jones’ fate wasn’t sealed until Meredith Vieira left to work at ‘Today’ and was replaced by Rosie O’Donnell. Sources say:

“(Firing Star) was always Rosie’s condition of joining the show, and Barbara agreed to those conditions from the outset.”

Jones has long frustrated show producers by plugging personal business deals on air and most recently by bragging about her dramatic weight loss but refusing to confirm that she’d lost the weight only after gastric bypass surgery. Her future projects include changing the channel and struggling to breathe.
