AICN is running what they claim to be the first picture of Heath Ledger as the Joker in next summers "the Dark Knight", the sequel to "Batman Begins". The image is taken from a makeup test done internally for Warner Bothers. It may or may not be real, because it doesn't even really look like Ledger. It might be his stand-in. Who for some reason has 9 fingers on his right hand. Either way, he just looks kinda dorky. Not scary. But I guess if you like goth poser homos in eyeliner, Heath Ledger as the Joker is like a magical bundle of wishes and you two perverts should run away together.

fuck shit damn. They are ruining the series. Tim Burtons Batman and Batman Returns are the greatest movies. Why the fuck do u have to rewrite them. They came out like 15 years ago, at least give it some more time.

If this is a test .Then it failed. A few years ago I had a fight with Darren J.Vincenzo about one artist rendering of the joker in one of the batman books and he agreed. He was one of the batman editors. i don`t care for the new joker on the batman cartoon series. But that one is more in sync with this one. this is too much The Crow. He supposed to be a villian more specifically a sick demented murderous clown. Not a hero.

Heath has been signed on as the Joker - but as long as they keep the mood dark and ..well.. mental, then it may actually work. And this is a picture taken with a blank background and crappy lightning - once it is put under Gotham’s lights, I’m sure it will look a lot better.
I think it looks pretty cool.. I’m more concerned about how Ledger portrays the Joker than the make-up..
