NICOLE RICHIE IS SO SCREWED

July 11, 2007 | celebrity | editor | 0 Comments

Nicole Richie will go to court tomorrow to face charges of DUI after her December 11th arrest for driving the wrong way down the Burbank freeway while high on vicodin and marijuana.  Richie tried to stall again today and asked for a continuance but was denied.  TMZ says:

Richie's lawyer asked for a continuance until August 5th, because her expert witness, Dr. Terence McGee, was not available to testify then. Commissioner Steven Lubell was visibly upset and ordered both Nicole's lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, and the prosecutor into chambers. When the Commissioner came out, he said he would not rule on the continuance and ordered all parties into court tomorrow morning at 8:30 AM — that's when the trial is scheduled to begin.

Do we really need a trial for this?  She admitted she was high when she got pulled over.  What is there to … um … tri?  Try?  Tria?  Look, whatever, at best she could claim she was so high she accidentally told the cop she was high, and that seems a flawed defense, at best.
