"The OC" and that's about it star Mischa Barton was arrested early this morning for DUI, possession of illegal narcotics and driving without a valid license, according to a report that first appeared on Hollyscoop.com. TMZ adds:
(Barton) was pulled over early this morning around 2:45 AM as she was driving in West Hollywood, Calif., and is still in custody, being held on $10,000 bail.
People.com goes on to say that Barton is still scheduled to host the opening of a new Las Vegas restaurant called CatHouse over the weekend. Hopefully they didn't pay her upfront, because Mischa will be drunk by 9 and carrying on and scooching her ass across the carpet because she thinks she's on fire by 10 at the latest. Bravo, CatHouse, money well spent.

I'm guessing its at least a, with potentially b or c thrown in as well. Just can't understand it - if $ was no object, I'd always have a driver to take me around for every night that I might be drinking. Or my agent/manager would have someone on call to protect his/her meal ticket, I'd think. Since I'd only hire intelligent people to rep for me. Especailly if I was like Kiefer and already had 2-3 DUIs on my record.

well coffeeman, the deal is that if you are a big enough star then you are immune to prosecution. so these people are flirting with disaster because they want to prove to themselves and to everybody that they can get away with anything. Kiefer, clearly overestimated his own celebrity, or refused to give the judge head, or the juge was straight- any or all of the above. Mischa Barton is fucked.
