The producers of ‘Breaking Bad’ better be prepared for Lindsay Lohan to beg for a guest spot, because Bryan Cranston told Howard Stern today that he actually learned how to make high quality meth while preparing for his role.
“We were taught how to make meth (by) DEA chemists who were our consultants on the show. We didn’t cook it, but we were told exactly the process at that high level.”
And it must have sounded suspicious when he said he didn’t cook any, because when pressed he said…
“Maybe. I can’t tell you one way or the other. It’s extremely difficult. There are so many volatile components to it that at any given time, you could literally blow up.”
Oh and hats off to the DEA. They gave lessons on how to make meth. On a film set. In Hollywood. But obviously those aren’t the kinds of people who would ever experiment with drugs, so I’m sure nothing bad could come from it.

Yeah, because you need the DEA to google “how to cook meth”.
Uncle Fester mentioned in an interview that he’s worked as a script adviser on Breaking Bad:

Is this show any good? I watched the first 2 episodes and couldn’t get into it.
Lohan doesn’t have the courage or committment necessary to OD.
@Moose give it a few more eps to see if it’s for you. I’d equate it to The Wire or Dexter minus the cursing/nudity you get on pay channels. Sometimes shows that everyone else loves just don’t scratch the itch but it’s all personal preference. Cheers!
As a former cook, Uncle Fester’s book on making meth & mdma are wrong.
They are written to explode and go wrong intentionally.
I doubt he worked as a script advisor.
It explains why the DEA had to show them how to make meth.
Thanks Conal. I’m a huge fan of Dexter. So next time I’m in the mood for being a lump on the couch for a few days i’ll check this out.
Great show. Why would the DEA help some Hollywood people learn how to make meth? Tax money at work?
Don’t do drugs kids!
