Nets Owner Pisses Off Putin

If you ever find yourself getting down on America, remember there’s the rest of the world. Exhibit A: Russia. Billionaire oligarch Mikhail Prokhorov can buy an NBA team, run the team into the ground, fuck models, and say whatever he wants. In America. In Russia you can’t do that last bit. Prokhorov has a large interest in the Russian media group RBC, whose newspaper printed something mildly critical of topless horsemen Vladimir Putin. Now Prokhorov has to sell everything he owns and run away.

“He broke a cardinal rule by embarrassing Putin. Now he wants to get rid of everything and get the hell out of Russia… It’s self-preservation.”

Your country sucks when even your billionaires can’t get away with shit. I don’t like to brag, but in America, you can buy your way out of anything. If the government doesn’t have your back, you become President and make it. Next time someone tells you that Caitlyn Jenner is a hero or that consensual sex is rape if the woman regrets it months later, remember, it could be worse. You could be giving hand-jobs for an extra serving of watered-down borscht in a Siberian labor camp.
