KIEFER SUTHERLAND IS SCREWED

October 10, 2007 | celebrity | editor | 0 Comments

Kiefer Sutherland pleaded no contest Tuesday to a misdemeanor drunk-driving charge.  Sutherland was stopped in West Hollywood after making an illegal u-turn a little after 1am on September 25th.  It was apparent to officers at the scene that Sutherland was drunk, and when tested, his blood alcohol level was almost twice the legal limit.  People.com says:

His attorney met with city prosecutors ahead of his scheduled arraignment next week. The Los Angeles City Attorney's office is recommending to the judge that Sutherland be sentenced to 48 days in jail – 30 days for the DUI conviction, and an additional 18 days for violating his probation. He will be sentenced on Dec. 21.It was his fourth DUI arrest: In 1989, he was arrested for DUI and carrying a concealed and loaded weapon. In a deal with prosecutors, he pleaded no contest to alcohol-related reckless driving, and the other charges were dropped. He was arrested again in 1993, and pleaded out the same way. He was given the option of serving 12 days in jail or performing 211 hours of community service, and opted for the latter.

48 days sounds like a lot.  Thank god he's a celebrity, or else he would really have to do that.  When all is said and done, whatever little girl runs the jails in LA will get all doe-eyed and star struck and cave in.  It will go from 48 days in jail to the prison guards paying him 5 dollars if he can eat a tablespoon of cinnamon.  No, no, no, 10 but he has to eat a goldfish.  Do it … c'mon man do it!!!
