So, the origins of the Eva Longoria sex tape rumor may have finally been revealed, and the truth is there is no tape, but there is a TV show desperate for the sheer pandemonium that would ensue if anyone actually watched them.  Jake from Funny or Die explains:

The rumor started, I believe, last Friday when the Insider teased saying "on monday news about a possible eva longoria sex tape," knowing full well that they were doing a piece on the video we just launched.

The Insider, the source of the rumor, knew the tape was nothing more than a sketch for Funny or Die, but led people to believe it was real.  I guess this is what they have to do for attention.  Possibly because that show is insufferably boring.  You forget you're even watching TV.  It's like watching an aquarium for 30 minutes.  Tomorrow they have an exclusive report on a sliver man on a surf board whose arrival on earth may mark the end of days.  Ahhh!!! We're all gonna die!!!!

    Most TV shows are boring - the only reason to watch is to see the celeb babes actually moving around - rather just in the photos.

    I agree Observer.  The main reason people watched Alias was to see Jennifer Garner in some interesting getup.  The show would have been better if Jen had filled out her clothes a little more.

    My life is ruined!  Who can I sue?  All that anticipation, purchases of large quantities of tissues, lube, I put in for two weeks of vacation, upgraded my home theater capabilities, all for nothing!!

    BTW, I must confess I have never watched Desperate Housewives and only have a vague idea of Eva Longoria's identity.  But I so want to belong to the "in crowd…"
