Yup. If you are new here you might not notice or care, but to people who were here when it was still starkly independent, it was one of the best and funniest sites on the internet. The comments section was full of people trying to outdo Brendooooons quips and some of them actually succeeded. I often laughed even harder at the comments than at the article itself.
Now, as I said, the posts are all supporting some celebrity agenda, pointing out agfay (can’t even say the “F-word” anymore?!?!) shit that only Perez should care about, “OMG look at so-and-so’s fugly hair, doesn’t she know that style went out in February?!?” and the comments are mostly people just continuing months-long convos with eachother.
Stileproject and Maddox’ The Best Page in The Universe are other examples of once-funny sites turning to shit once they got some sponsorship. I just wish this site could get it back, but I think the checks in the mail and the damage has been done.
well jtt, look at today’s comment totals. Now subtract the ones that are complaining about the site’s downward spiral. I think you are left with 3 overall comments. Even the spammers have left.

pepper, it’s adblock doing it’s job. From time to time i’ll check the site with another comp or browser that doesn’t have adblock installed, and the ads are fucking relentless.

i just checked the site with another browser. It’s covered from top to bottom with stills, ads, and video ads for Chelsea lately. i believe that is also an E! networks show. Oh yes, you can tell by the big fucking red E! that is all over the site too.
