Paul George Seems Unwise

Put me in the camp of people who believe the pendulum has swung on Ray Rice from under-reaction to let’s hang the motherfucker until his toes start twitching. What Ray Rice did was wrong. A one year suspension and whatever millions that costs him is proper penance for assaulting his girlfriend under any back and forth circumstances. You can tack on some anger management bullshit classes to appease the courts. But we don’t typically flip the fry switch on a guy for his first offense one drunken evening in a casino. What Michael Vick did was worse. That’s not a valuation on dogs over women, that’s looking at a guy who led a knowing lifestyle of doing inhumane shit, or whatever word applies to being crappy to animals that we love, like dogs. There’s no evidence to suggest anything other than Ray Rice making one big stupid fucking drunken mistake. I’d never hit a woman, but I sure have made some big stupid fucking drunken mistakes before.

That all being said, have to be a total fucking nitwit to announce anything close to this on Twitter. You have to be even more brain dead to add a Stephen A. Smith women shouldn’t provoke big angry men addendum when you’re called on your first Tweet:

Obviously, if she’s still fighting you haven’t beat her quite enough? I understand there is some segment of the male population that believes that if a woman half your size is attacking you with her bare hands it’s okay to pop her in the face to get her to stop. But, much like Paul George’s command of the written language, that’s a fail. Even relatively smart celebrities are just asking for trouble when they start spitballing their deep thoughts on their social media accounts. Somebody who loves the ignorant ones really ought to convince them to ditch this one click to publication technology.

Within a short timeframe, somebody from the NBA or the Pacers or just Paul George’s girlfriend now cowering in the corner got to George who deleted his provocative ebonic Tweets and replaced them with a pro forma apology to women and victims and people who are now trying to ditch his jersey on eBay before the price plummets.
