John Leguizamo Sacrifices for La Raza

John Leguizamo declared he’s never going to watch SNL again if they let Donald Trump host the show this weekend. So that’s four million new viewers minus the infectious voice of Sid in Ice Age  Since it’s way too late for that to possibly change, Leguizamo added that he’s moving back to Colombia which shocked everybody who were certain he was Puerto Rican. Fuck, I was so sure.

I find it hurtful and insulting, and you’re celebrating someone who has said some horrible things. I just find it unacceptable. I will not watch

When asked about the fact the Alec Baldwin calls gay people queens and cocksucking faggots and hosts the show routinely, Leguizamo laughed and said ‘Did he really say that? That’s funny’.

Leguizamo is the latest Latino to denounce SNL for allowing a guy who will quadruple their sagging ratings to host the show. Trump called Mexican illegals some bad names, or as the press likes to call Mexican illegals, Mexicans. That jingoistic sentiment flies in the face of the liberal SNL tradition. But ratings and money are nice. Tough call. Better to apologize after the fact than ask permission in advance from hordes of online anonymous petition signers all curiously named Juan Alvarez. That should be a saying. Is anybody working on making the show less not funny?
