Gwyneth Paltrow Shitty Dress for Date with Gay Ambassador

October 27, 2016 | celebrity | Lex Jurgen | 0 Comments

For every man out there who detests Gwyneth Paltrow and her non-reflective bit of self-perfection, there’s an extremely well-dressed gay U.S. official out there to take her to swank affairs in Spain.

If you’ve ever wondered how ambassadorships are handed out, follow the money. Also, political favors. The Obamas appointed interior decorator Michael Smith to reappoint the Oval Office following their victory in 2009. Smith’s domestic partner was James Costos, a creative executive for HBO and Tod’s shoe company, and on the board of numerous thoughtful social organizations. The gay couple were frequent in-home hosts of big ticket fundraisers in Los Angeles for Obama and the DNC. When the Spain gig opened up in 2012, Costos got the nod to be the next U.S. Ambassador and off he and Smith flew for a four year stint of luxury living along the Iberian peninsula.

Don’t ask too many questions. Just know that Elle magazine awarded Paltrow their highest honor. The Icon Award. Her Gucci rose dress was lauded as magnificent because fashion and style are entirely subjective, largely whole-cloth invented arts wherein a few people making a shitload of money tell everybody else what is amazing. Less legit than horse racing, more legit than Presidential elections. Ladies with money do need hobbies. And ugly dresses.

You don’t win Elle Icon awards merely for having numerous major sponsorship deals with fashion labels and allowing magazines to take photos of you and your children in your home. Or do you?
