Russell Crowe Didn’t Beat up Azealia Banks Like She Said

Back in October Azealia Banks took time out of railing on white people to attend a super white movie person party in Russell Crowe’s hotel suite in Beverly Hills where she claims Crowe was a less than hospitable host:

[Crowe] called me a nigger, choked me, threw me out and spat at me.

Sounds downright antebellum. Or the Australian version. The racist beat down story read perfect until there was a formal District Attorney investigation which found through testimony and eyewitness account that Banks was the assaultive party, not Crowe. Banks ripped on Crowe for his music being lame and called he and his buddy ‘boring white men’. Harsh, though supported by facts. Banks continued to lash out at the party at which point Crowe grabbed her in a bear hug and carried outside for security to escort away. The grappling hold seems gratuitous, though prospectively restraining a crazy chick’s arms is never a bad idea.

Crowe’s account was backed by RZA who was at the party and said while Banks was cool to work with, after hours apparently she becomes an enormous asshole. You could Web MD the known side effects of opiates and alcohol for more instructive explanations. One person believes they’re constantly at the center of a racist conspiracy, while another gets fat and forms a rock band. Both should seek treatment. Though everyone agreed this was the first interesting Russell Crowe party ever.
