Eva Longoria Back To Being A Movie Star

Eva Longoria hasn’t had a worthy role in a while, but good things come to those who wait. She’s practically getting a second chance with her upcoming role as Dora the Explorer’s mother in a live-action Dora the Explorer movie. And now with the laughable addition of Best Popular Film as a category, she’s actually eligible to nab that Oscar she’s been long overdue for. The project has started production in Australia, which is confusing because the fictional location in the cartoon is hinted to be Mexico. But who really wants to risk any actors accidentally running into the cartel. The last thing a Nickelodeon backed movie needs is for the actress who played Dora to be found dismembered in a glad bag.

Eva Longoria has been cast in Paramount Players’ live-action feature of Nickelodeon’s “Dora the Explorer,” playing Elena, Dora’s mother.

The James Bobin-directed movie hits theaters on Aug. 2, 2019, and is already in production over in Australia with cast members Isabela Moner (as Dora), Eugenio Derbez, Micke Moreno, Nicholas Coombe, Madeleine Madden, Adriana Barraza and Temuera Morrison.

In the movie, the young explorer takes on high school, and with her new pack of friends as well as her sidekick, the monkey Boots, and her cousin Diego, leads them on a “Goonies”-esque quest to save her parents and solve the impossible mystery behind a lost Inca civilization.

I’m joyous that Eva snagged this role. Keeping active is important. It only takes a few months of a new Mexican mother constantly missing the minimum sleep requirement before they end up looking like the maid from Family Guy. Although far from a major feature film, this movie will give her more purpose than just being the cutie MILF in the cocina crushing chilies in the molcajete for hubby.
