Brazilian Rapper Shot Onstage

Brazilian rapper MC Daleste was shot and died while performing onstage in Sao Paolo Brazil. He was in the middle of his set when shots rang out and he was hit in the chest. He was rushed to the hospital but didn’t make it. It’s a sad statement about the completely fucked up crime situation in Brazil and once again makes us wonder if Brazil is the best place to host big international events. On the other hand, maybe Brazilian rappers getting shot is a sign that they are becoming more like us. How many of our rappers have been shot? Biggie, Tupac, Jam Master Jay, and Fat-Tone to name just a few. In spite of all the crime and the crushing poverty, Brazil has been advancing in industry and technology in the past few years. Maybe the fact that their rappers are getting shot just like in America is a positive sign of economic growth. Though it probably just means soccer tourists next summer will be beaten in the streets with their own vuvuzelas.
