Polanski Never Coming Back

If you were hoping to spend next summer watching the Roman Polanski rape trial on CNN, forget it. A Polish court rejected what will probably be the final attempt by the U.S., to return Polanski for a couple questions on why he liquored up and sodomized a thirteen year old girl in Jack Nicholson’s pool back in 1977. While the term “rape” is now commonly applied to anything a man does that is not consistent with gender behavior standards set by female bloggers who work in Manhattan but live in Brooklyn, the 1977 incident was actually rape.

At the time, Polanski was set to receive a sweetheart deal of minor consorting with a girl who was ditching middle school Spanish class. When Polanski learned that political pressure put that insider arrangement in jeopardy and he might go on real trial, he left for France, never to return. The French love Polanski as a film director almost as much as they do forty-two year old men who need prepubescent tail in order to invigorate their creative spirit. That and smokes and cheese. They built a protective bubble around the rapist and refused to extradite. His home country of Poland didn’t do much better in living up to their end of extradition treaties, given that Polanski’s a national treasure and with Ivan Putski in poor health, their list is thinning quickly. Both these countries used excuses of the U.S. criminal justice system being inhumane to child rapists. That probably sounds less silly in French or Polish.

Polanski’s victim has long ago stated she has forgiven Polanski. Less is known about how she felt about her stage mom who put her in the hot tub with Polanski and dropped subtle comments like “I won’t be back for several hours. I hope nobody famous and connected tries to stick their dick in my virgin daughter.” You’ve got to break a few eggs if you want Rosemary’s Baby and Chinatown. There’s a certain nostalgia for Old Hollywood. Especially by those now who have to be super cautious and down low with their child actor raping. Fleeing to France was more fashionable before ISIS started blowing up all the nicer cafes.
