Nobody knows how to rationalize the obesity epidemic better than Ashley Graham, who as a medical professional preaches the good world that being clinically overweight is hot and healthy. It’s the same health message Americans are getting from her fellow doctor Chrissy Metz, and it’s definitely a relief for those of us hankering for 7000 calories a day. Why restrain yourself with a sensible breakfast when you can simply live the Big Bertha life. For empowerment people.
Graham is asking us to check our h8 at the door for her latest ad campaign for her gross swimsuit line by using untouched pictures of her body to tell people that it’s okay to be horrifying to look at. Consider the message received. Here’s what she has to say about being authentically herself:
Introducing my latest @swimsuitsforall collection! We decided to use unedited paparazzi shots as the campaign images. Reminder: being authentic is beautiful. Shop my new collection now
To be honest, if the entire reinforced platform for Graham is body positivity, I’m not sure why she would be touched up in the first place. A) It gives a mixed message about embracing your true self and B) Why fucking bother.
